Brisbane Acoustics recently completed a project for the installation of acoustic products at Total Fusion Morningside, a multi-sensory fitness and wellness center located in Brisbane, Australia. The project aimed to enhance the sound quality within specific spaces of the run club, yoga room, pilates room, Fusion room, and the spin club. These spaces were suffering from severe reverberation issues due to the hard surfaces of the floor, walls, and ceiling. Pair that with a loud sound system and 30 + occupants, and the acoustics are unbearable.

The challenge of the project was to create an environment that would be conducive to both physical activity and relaxation. Given the nature of the business, it was crucial to ensure that the sound levels within the center were controlled, so that the noise generated by the various activities wouldn’t interfere with one another. Additionally, the sound quality within the center had to be of a high standard, to provide customers with the best possible experience.

Brisbane Acoustics rose to the challenge by installing Autex Acoustics Quietspace 25mm in custom cut sizes to neatly fit between the existing services on the ceilings. “The Autex Quietspace product is the ideal solution for this kind of application”,  said general manager of Brisbane Acoustics, Alex Beveridge. “The hard facing layer treats low frequency sounds, where the softer backing layer is optimal for mid and high frequency levels”, he continued to say.

In addition to the installation of acoustic products, Brisbane Acoustics also carried out an analysis of the center to determine the best placement for the products. This was done to ensure that the acoustic products were optimally placed for maximum sound control and absorption, whilst not interfering with lighting, fire alarms, and other services that had already been installed within the space.

The result of the project was a significant improvement in the sound quality within the center. The sound levels are now well controlled, ensuring that customers are able to work out and relax in a comfortable environment. The high-quality sound also enhances the overall experience for customers, making it easier for them to concentrate and stay motivated while they work out.
