Introduction: In this case study, we will explore how Brisbane Acoustics successfully tackled the acoustic challenges posed by the MOBO Foyer, located on the Ground Floor at 88 Tribune Street. The client, Tactic Spaces, required an effective solution to address the extensive hard surfaces throughout the foyer, along with its 5-meter plus high ceiling. Brisbane Acoustics employed Autex Acoustics’ Frontier system in the Talus design and Autex Acoustics Quietspace panels to achieve remarkable acoustic improvements in the space.

Challenges: The MOBO Foyer, though architecturally stunning, was plagued by poor acoustic conditions due to its extensive use of hard surfaces, including glass walls, tiled floors, and a high plasterboard ceiling. These features created a harsh and reverberant environment, making it difficult for visitors to engage in conversations, hold meetings, or simply enjoy the space comfortably. Additionally, the foyer’s aesthetics needed to be preserved, making it essential to find an acoustic solution that blended seamlessly with the existing design.

Solution: Brisbane Acoustics collaborated closely with Tactic Spaces to devise a comprehensive acoustic solution. After conducting a thorough assessment, the installation of the Autex Acoustics Frontier system in the Talus design and Autex Acoustics Quietspace panels was selected.
