Brisbane Acoustics recently completed a high-specification acoustic installation for apremier Toyota Dealership, focusing on merging architectural elegance with superiorsoundcontrol. This case study explores how custom-tailored Autex solutionstransformed their corporate boardroom into a sophisticated, acoustically optimizedenvironment
Problem:
In the high-stakes environment of a modern Toyota Dealership, the boardroom serves asthe central hub for strategic planning, executive negotiations, and high-definition videoconferencing. However, the existing space faced a significant challenge common tocontemporary corporate design: excessive sound reverberation. With an abundance ofhard surfaces—including large conference tables, extensive glass partitions, andpolished flooring—the room suffered from a persistent “echo chamber” effect. Thisacoustic instability severely compromised speech clarity during critical meetings and created a distracting, hollow environment for both in-person and remote participants. The client required a solution that would rectify these acoustic deficiencies withoutresorting to standard, utilitarian sound-absorbing panels that might detract from thedealership’s sophisticated, high-end branding and professional aesthetic.
Solution:
Brisbane Acoustics was engaged to design and install a bespoke acoustic feature wallthat balanced technical performance with premium architectural aesthetics. Thecenterpiece of the design was the Autex 12mm thick Cube™ in the deep-toned shadeof Empire.Image 2
To achieve the desired “feature design,” Brisbane Acoustics moved away from standardsheet installation. Instead, the panels were precision-cut into uniform rectangles tocreate a structured, geometric pattern across the wall. To elevate the design further andprovide a sharp, professional edge, custom powder-coated U-channels were meticulously integrated between each individual panel. These channels actedasarchitectural “shadow lines,” providing a sleek, metallic contrast to the soft, mattetexture of the Autex Cube. This intricate detailing ensured that the acoustic treatment functioned as an intentional design element, seamlessly integrated into the room’shigh-end fit-out
Outcome:
The final result is a boardroom that perfectly mirrors the Toyota brand’s reputation forquality, precision, and innovation. By combining the 12mm Autex Cube with custom-engineered powder-coated hardware, Brisbane Acoustics delivered a striking visualfocal point that commands attention. Most importantly, the installation achieved itsprimary technical goal: a dramatic reduction in sound reflection. The U-channel integration provided a clean, modern finish that aligns with thedealership’s architectural language, ensuring that the sound qualities of the room weredrastically enhanced without compromising on style.
